Our Best Answer: I’ve been admitted to McGill, what’s next?

First steps

Your first step is to let us know you're coming and accept your offer of admission on Minerva before the deadline given in your letter of acceptance. A deposit payable by credit card will be required. If you don’t respond by the deadline, your place may be given to the next person on the waiting list – so be sure to confirm on time.

The Newly admitted undergraduate students website will take you through the steps to prepare for university, right up to the first day of classes and beyond. You will find information about housing and settling in, fees and finances, program advising and course registration, important dates to note, and much more.

New Student Orientation

McGill University offers several different orientations to newly admitted students, based on their program, department and level of study. Consult the Campus Life and Engagement's Your First Year at McGill website for more details.

If you have been admitted to McGill but you are still undecided about choosing McGill, we have events that can help you make an informed decision before you confirm your offer of admission.

The School of Continuing Studies has an orientation event for newly registered students. More information is given at the time of course registration.
