English Language Requirements

All undergraduate applicants must provide proof of English proficiency. Only official test results sent from the testing center will be considered. IELTS and TOEFL results must be sent to McGill electronically from the testing center.
 
With the exception of language courses, the language of instruction for most courses at McGill University is English; however, you may make arrangements to write term papers, examinations and theses in English or in French. While French is not a requirement, there are many opportunities for students to learn French while studying at McGill. Students are also permitted to submit any coursework in French.

McGill students and alumni or former students who were registered or graduated from McGill as of 1972 or later can request Electronic Official Transcripts (eTranscripts) in PDF format to send to educational institutions, employers, funding agencies, immigration authorities, or any third party.
